Defining SSO Power and Characterizing SSO Propagation in Power System With Wind Farms Integration

This paper studies the characteristics of subsynchronous oscillation (SSO) power propagation in systems with a large-scale wind farm integration. Based on instantaneous theory, novel definition SSO is proposed to characterize its propagation. The contains both DC components and AC components. Utilizing power, quantitatively studied single source systems, further multiple sources systems. Theoretical analysis reveals that addition recognized impact line impedance, flow also affects significantly. Hence, factor for determination dominant influencing element. To reveal paths network, shunt coefficients are expressed respectively. Test cases under different operating conditions practical case carried out demonstrate conclusions this paper.
